Special character handling

While I have my file paths working and converting special characters OK, ő was curious if there was a way to do it within the tag.

Make Tiësto tiesto for instance for easier searching.

I tried to use volumio, but I cannot search for tiesto as they are not handling the special character. Sure the issue could be on them, but I thought if I just remove it, then I am good to go.

Short of a manual modify, I was not sure if there was a way.

No, there’s nothing exactly like that currently. Sounds like a pretty straightforward plugin to implement if you’re interested in some hacking, though!

guess the easiest would be to tell beets to make the special e character a normal e via regex perhaps. or in the system that is not able to search it, add the required language pack
