List all genres?

Hi

is there a more straight forward way of listing all genres, apart from listing all genres from all tracks and than piping them through sort and unique?

Nope; that (or sort -u) is the recommended way!

Newbie, sorry. How are you getting the list of genres before sorting them?

Try something like beet ls -f '$genre'!
