How can I consolidate multiple albums?

I’ve imported my large (to me) music collection, and overall its worked well, the only issue is I now have lots of duplicates of the same album, each with some tracks in them, such as

\Crowded House\Recurring Dream_ The Very Best of Crowded House [153]
\Crowded House\Recurring Dream_ The Very Best of Crowded House [154]
\Crowded House\Recurring Dream_ The Very Best of Crowded House [155]

My understamding is Beets imported these tracks from different directories, so the aunique option checked and couldn’t find a good reason for the albums to be seperate, so used a sequential number. Is there a way to tell beets not to do that, or to move these tracks all into one album folder ? (if I removed the aunique from the path in my config, would this do that ?)

Hi! You do indeed want to merge these albums together. It would technically work, for the purpose of unifying those directories, to remove %aunique, but I recommend against that—you’ll be happier if beets actually knows that this is one album.
