Does Chromaprint/Acoustid work on vinyl rips?

My assumption is that the chroma plugin only works for sample-perfect CD rips… can anyone confirm or deny this assumption?

Quite often when importing vinyl it finds a match that does not list ‘id’ as one of the ‘non-matching’ fields, which suggests that it does work… though I am sceptical!

Hmm… while I’m no expert, I’d actually guess that vinyl rips would work. It’s designed to use acoustic information, not raw sample data—for example, it certainly works on lossily compressed audio in its myriad forms, with no restrictions on the codec.
