# Looking to help out!

Hi, I am looking to contribute to my first open source project, and beets is very interesting to me. I was wondering if there were any open issues that would be a good starter task for me. Please let me know, thanks!

Welcome aboard; we’d be happy to have your help!! 😄 One place to start is the `bitesize` issue label on GitHub, which marks some issues that are small enough to be good “entry points”:

Even if those issues don’t seem very exciting in themselves, tackling one of them could be a good way to get familiar with the codebase and the development practices we use, which could set you up to work on bigger projects in the future.

@jogo If there is something additional you would like beets to do, another nice way to start getting into beets programming is to [write a plugin](https://beets.readthedocs.io/en/stable/dev/plugins.html). I found it very doable without needing to study the beets internals.
