Adding my own id to metadata and bulk change fields

Hi all,

I misused the disc and disc_number field in my metadata to track an archive number of my cds so that I can store the cds somewhere in a numbered order and always quickly find the right cd.

Can I insert with beets a custom field eg “archive_id” and bulk change the value of it to the value of disc or disc_number?

Or is there an other field for this already?

We don’t have a “bulk change” feature like the one you’re describing yet, but this issue covers that idea: https://github.com/beetbox/beets/issues/488
